I have been looking over the videos that are floating aroudn online. This one takes the cake.
There is also a clip of D'espairsRay performing Brilliant.
I wish I went. It looks like it was so much of fun!

This past weekend was Sakura Matsuri at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. This annual Festival celebrates the coming of spring in a rather Japanese style. There are traditional dancers and other mini events that occur as well.
When it comes down to it the main attraction is the Cherry Blossom trees.

Today was a rather eccentric day for me. I met up with my dad so we could return the digital photo frame. Long story short: the frame said it played avi video files and it didn't. Then I was off for a random walking tour thanks to Time Out New York (TONY). So armed with this week's issue of TONY I set off for Chinatown. It was over crowded per usual and I really wanted some onigiri, so Bryant Park was my next destination... by train. I went to my favorite place for some fried chicken-ball-thing bento and two onigiri, one ume and another just rice with edamame and seasoning on it. I topped it off with a bottle of C1000. That drink was so good!
I then relaxed in the park reading my magazine. There seemed to be a large group of ambercrombie-esque kids there with one old man. I'm talking 20 or so people sitting there talking and what not. It was odd and I regret not taking a photo.
Then I headed into the H&M but didn't buy anything.I missed out on getting the motorcycle jacket a few weeks back...After that I proceeded to call my sister and make plans to go to Aura tonight, when it began to rain. So, I decided to head home instead... but not before heading to Kinokuniya for some dessert.

It was yummy!
Random: I saw him walking in front of me and I could think about is how I really wanted to steal his clothes!

I hope you guys bought your raffle tickets!

Today was go to the mall day with my good pal Ryan. We took our usual evening drive up to one of our favorite malls to do some light shopping and such. I was filling him in on the happenings since RToC when I saw them... again.
I saw the same boots some punk chic was wearing at the Camden show. The insanely tall converses.

I didn't get them. Considering thew where and when I would wear them, I rationalized that I can buy something else that I would actually wear on the regular. Sadly, the mall was closing so I had no time to try the other shoes on.
Another item i picked up is a lovely white sleeveless ruffle blouse. As stated above, I didn't have time to try it on and thanks to it being a European company I was not sure if my chest would strain against the fabric. I am confident to report that the shirt fits like a DREAM! Just like the one I purchased last year from that store. I had really loved another white blouse but they did not have it in a medium... well in THAT location anyways. We didn't have time to make the poor store clerks search their inventory for one shirt. I simply took a cellphone photo of the tag and the name and number of the next location. I shall see if I can follow up on that another day.

D'espairsray's HP has samples of both Brilliant and Cocoon.
I'm looking forward to this single so much.

A few weeks back I talked about 9GOATS BLACK OUT. Well, now they have a CD out called devils in bedside! Go on and give these guys a listen. Telling from the samples on their myspace, they will not disappoint!
Another band I've been slowly getting into is heidi. They have a cd/dvd coming out called Insens. It is a bit hard for me to talk at length about them right now though. I only began listening to them a week ago.
Next up is my favorite, Sugar. These guys are so talented. Loki's vocals have a certain richness to it. He has come so far! They have a new cd coming out soon called antlion. A definite buy for any Sugar fan.
Last but not least is Anna Tsuchiya. I ADORE this woman to no end. She has a sort of rawness in her voice which keeps it female but not overly feminine. I may muxtape some songs to let you guys listen so you can get what I mean. Anyways, she has a new CD out called Crazy World featuring AI. I think I may pick this up also.

Well, Gackt will be appearing once again on the big screen in a new movie thatās set to come out in 2009 called āBUNRAKUā. This time, however, itās a Hollywood flick that will feature both Josh Hartnett and Demi Moore.Last year someone from Hollywood apparently noticed Gacktās performance in the NHK drama ć風ęē«å±±ć (Fuurinkazan), and well, look where it got him. The screenplay for the movie and directing are under control of Guy Moshe and Gackt, or Yoshi as heās apparently called in the film, is the samurai partner to the protagonist (played by Hartnett).
I saw this a few days ago on a friend's blog...I don't even know what to say.

So,Jhouse-Rock Entertainment FINALLY announced who the musical guest for this year's Anime Next will be. I have mixed feelings about it though. I have heard RENTRER EN SOI's music before this and the CaC announcement. It's ok enough.
My main focus is if I am going to truly see the band and enjoy them... or will it simply be a repeat of last year's Otakon? (i.e. hotel parties with friends and light shopping.)
I hope my buddy will be having his booth there this year. I will most likely go if he does. Also, I like the raffle ticket route Jhouse-Rock Entertainment decided to go with this year. It will be less stressful than the INSANE ebaywars of years gone by.
I mean really, unless you are fluent in japanese OR are ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE you will not lose your composure while being around the band members, WHY OH WHY would anyone want to participate? The few people I know of who won and WERE NOT FLUENT (or even a level 1!) AND DID LOSE THEIR COMPOSURE said that they wish they could have changed how it went down.
So, I hope people will be boning up on their conversational Nihongo.

Since I am an avid fan of Uniqlo, I am glad to share some news on them.
First off, last fall had Matsuda Ryuhei modeling a few of their items. Upon visiting the New York flagship store last fall, I saw for myself the instore posters which depicted him in a sunny yellow sweater, just like the site screen caps I had taken.

A few weeks ago I received an issue of Time Out New York (TONY) that had another Uniqlo ad. This time it featured Tadanobu Asano and Chloe Sevigny.

Lum, Ranma, et al, takes me back to my early anime loving days.
Yeah, before Cartoon Network and Sailor Moon. Back when anime SHOWS was pretty scarce in the US.
You guys have it so good now, and you don't even know it.
Anyways, check out NY-Tokyo's e-article about it here .

Yesterday was my belated birthday brunch. I had so much fun. It made me wish my birthday was everyday. Anyways, The attendees are as follows: my Mommy, my Uncle Ricky, my Auntie Jackie, Nikui, Sokai, My classmates Joya and Maryse and her cousin who's name I forgot... I kept calling her Sam because she reminds me of Sameerah so much. Her looks, hair and stature! Anyways we went to this amazing Cuban place. The food was delicious and so were their sangrias! Everyone got along well too.
My/Uncle Ricky's meal. Seriously, I could have eaten it myself. NOT ENOUGH FOOD! NEEDED MORE! My mom got the same thing and i polished off the rest of theirs too!
Lastly, I got the cutest desert EVER!!!!
IT WAS SO CUTE! I DIDN'T WANT TO EAT IT!

So.. usually my dad makes his rounds checking the doors etc and well.. I'm not supposed to "be on the computer at this hour".
So I heard him get up and I put my comp to sleep... I waited about 10 min in the dark and everything... then when i thought it was safe, I put my comp (but not the light) back on. He enters my room asking why am i on the comp in the dark. I give some vague answer.. not in the mood to argue or whatever...
Then he is like, "Look at this place! Your room is messy! Please clean it now!"
So I turn quickly and see a new shopping bag and he is like.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I'm like thanks daddy.. and right back on the internet I go. He asked if i will look in the bag.. so i turn on the light.. look in the bag and see this!| | work | begin loop? |
So yesterday was my birthday... and the Graphics Job fair at my university. Prior to attending the job fair I went to the Post Office to mail some important items. My sister and I did some light birthday shopping at Zara also. Soon after, I headed off to the job fair. I got a very good vibe this time around compared to last year. I guess it is because I am graduating. After that, I went out with some classmates and had fun. Video and photos may be uploaded... maybe.

:P MORE music related stuff...
Here is a video interview with the vocalists from the three Japanese rock bands playing on the Taste of Chaos 2008 roster.
Two things about this video, you will have to raise and lower the volume at times. Lastly, their fidgeting and expressions are fun to watch. Enjoy~!
#1 Epic RToC LOLZ moment (thus far)! I love this crack! Nevermind. They removed the photo.

There are some amazing moments here. Just watch the video.

I admit it. I like mp3 rotation sites. That is the fastest way I get into new music. So one of them had a few samples from a few bands this week.
First up is this band called Vistlip:
When I say the vocals are like butter... man oh man. His voice is so smooth and light, but definitely male. Musically they are amazing and it is strange that I had not heard anything about them sooner. And yes, they are for the most part, quite attractive. Some find that sort of thing important while me, I could give a rats ass. For example,I like Kagrra. I never actively sought out to see what they looked like/what new outfits they had etcetera.
The Underneath:

Ok, I know I said I had listened to their myspace and did not really enjoy the vocals.. well the samples I heard from the new album made up for it. I like their vocals now. Also, while the vocalist was rather INTENSE with his staring at the RToC meet and greet signings... both times, on a whole, the band is made up of some really pleasant guys. I hope they go far. Lastly, and this is an aside, I still think the lead singer needs to eat a bit more.
Exist Trance:
First off, we have an all female visual-kei band. Props to them! They have the look down totally. Musically however, I have to break it down: with and without vocals. With vocals, I find them to be lacking a little. Sure she can scream but singing? I personally don't find her singing strong enough. Without vocals this band excels beyond my expectations of an indies visual kei band I have ever heard. It is one thing to look good and sound like crap. They are far from sounding like crap thankfully. I will keep an eye on them though. They are promising.
That is all for today I guess. I plan on posting more content that IS NOT music related in the next few days. It really seems like this blog has been overrun with music content lately...

Yeah.. WOW!
I laughed really hard at first about this but then I felt a bit sad for those who had bought their plane tickets and hotels accommodations etcetera. But I guess I will go and check out the dates for Taste Of Chaos around that time and contemplate going now that I can.

There have been 3 occurrences of tug of war this month. There independent entities linked to my far past or more future past. I am over everything that happened in both pasts and I came to terms with the three entities.. the most recent one being early this morning. While remembering how things went down make my mouth sag downward slightly, no in a frown per say but a slight downward pull of one side.. something like the :/ emote.... I feel rather good about myself now and the impacts of those situations on my life, both good and bad.
I feel more mature. I feel as if He removed the taint, bitterness and discouragement from my life after all these collective months and years. I have no drive to seek revenge. I have more of a drive now to cultivate myself and my talents, empower those around me and have a genuinely good time. This has been a long time coming but I am so glad it is happening now in my life. I am in a different place now compared to last year, the year before that and even the year before that.
So when Clash Against Consumerism occurs in a few weeks, I will be even more so in a state of mind: before, during and after that... a state of mind knowing that good things will come my way.

Miyavi announced his international tour dates on his website: o-re-sa-ma.com So far we have 3 dates in California... yeah um... I hope there are more. Judging by his interview I spoke of in the last post he really likes California... but seriously, why leave New York hanging? I hope more dates will be added, but that is doubtful.
I will probably edit this later so it makes more sense. Fevers and posting are not a good idea.

A new Miyavi interview (IN ENGLISH) is up on Music Japan Plus.
It can be read here
To summarize: He goes in depth about his NEO-VISUALIZM tour and the concept behind it. A good read for any Miyavi fan.
Also, some of my photos from the Asbury Park Taste of Chaos show are up on livejournal. Not my usual quality but I like them. I hope you enjoy them too~!
Last but not least, check out Dingsomething.com for ALL of the RToC 2008 photos!

I am very greatful to that man. For so many reasons, but this... THIS really takes the cake. Really and truly. I even went out of my way yesterday morning IN VAIN today to get him something he specifically stated that he wanted. Unfortunately, I was unable to get it... but to be treated to a blog post about the thing I gave him on the 14th made me extremely happy... and wary. I guess that is to be expected. I will simply deal with it I suppose.
You may "mean nothing" but you mean something to me. Thank you for your kindness and appreciation.
*Edited @ 1:41am* Apparently, despite my attempts to buy the thing he SPECIFICALLY wanted did not work out, I did purchase alternates of the same brand... once again he was very appreciative. He showed this in the same manner he showed his appreciation for the 3/14 thing that I gave him.

Ryan and I were in my old Barnes and Noble a while back and he picked up this insanely addictive book. We instantly became hooked on reading it. Maybe I will snag his copy when he is finished. I'm too lazy to venture all the way back there for one simple book.
Anyways, the book takes you through the mind of an average American male. The lewdness, the shrewdness and assholishness of the main character comes out in a rather masterful way. It was undertaken in the best way I have ever seen to date. You will say the main character is a horrible asshole and quite a few "OH MY GOD! HE DID NOT JUST DO THAT!"'s also. This is a great read, humor and cynicism mixed into one. I am surprised no one thought of these sooner.

I was making my usual spins online today; livejournal, myspace, mixi, facebook, my school e-mail, my seller e-mail, my business e-mail and lastly checking my personal e-mail. I have various sites I subscribe to and that is why I LOVE the web clips feature g-mail allows its users to have. One of my favorite sites had something interesting and I found it so great that I just had to share it.
Basically one of the major site contributors, Hieronymus Isambard "Jake" von Slatt aka Jake, steampunkifies the crap out of various items. One in particular had me wanting to commission the man to do some work for me!

Upon reading about this I had to share it. Apparently Viz Media's Seiji Horibuchi plans on building a "J-Pop Center" in San Francisco.
Rest assured, this is not soley the music genre of J-pop but a place for people to buy "popular culture" items from Japan.A year from now, Viz Media will open the J-Pop Center, a three-story entertainment complex that aims to envelop visitors in the entire Japanese pop culture gestalt, from food to fashion, art materials to toys, and on to magazines, household goods, manga, anime and movies.
"I really want people to appreciate Japanese craftsmanship, quality and design," he says. "We might even have high-tech robots."
At the core of the complex will be a 150-seat art house movie theater specializing in Japanese live-action and animated feature films. The second floor will be dominated by fashion boutiques of the kind found in Japan's Marui department stores, with a particular emphasis on Gosu-rori (Gothic Lolita) designs, whose worldwide appeal Horibuchi calls "a 21st-century phenomenon."
The first floor will provide the full panoply of J-Pop goods that have a clear "visual appeal. We'll be targeting strictly American customers." An expansive cafe will provide the appropriate Japanese-style refreshments.

Yeah, once that place is built,I want to go check it out. It seems like a great idea and I hope they decide to do something like that in New York later on.

I think I have a new band to try out! If I remember correctly, Go mentioned 9GOATS BLACK OUT a month or so ago on his page. Well I went to their site and eventually their myspace and I like their sound a lot!
On an unrelated note, the pillows will be at Anime Boston. Damnit! I hope they come back to NYC soon! Speaking of New York, T.M. Revolution will be here for New York Comic Con in April. I may go to that but I will have to see if I have off or not.

I wantto go back. I really want to go back. this snow and cold weather is killing me.
Photos wil be up eventually. Sadly, I had no time to shoot anything "creative". The time was too short. Anyways I have been exploring some options in printing and I thi8nk it willb e well recieved. Also, I plan to open an etsy shop to sell some things. Wish me luck!
In other news, I talked to a former friend yesterday and cleared up alot of misconceptions pertaining to some events from this summer. We are good now and forging ahead, hopefully stronger than ever. I felt really horrible for making them feel all the things I felt after another previous failed friendship. I would never wish that on anyone. But I am glad things were cleared up in a mature manner all the same. Empathy and maturity work like that I suppose.

I feel as if my days as of late have been running away from me lately. Time goes by so quickly and now that the semester has started again I really have NO time to do much of anything. Actually that is a half-truth. I spent most of last week and the week prior calling family members and friends to find out who was a definite for the bridal shower. This week I got my hair done. I plan on doing my nails and toes will soon follow later on this week along with packing on Thursday evening. Lists need to be made, thank you cards need to be designed and seating arrangements need to be penned out. I will eventually take a photo of the hand madeinvitations. They are simply lovely!
Invitations aside, I actually found time to hang out with Ryan,Nikui and Sokai more than three times IN ONE MONTH! That is great and all, but once the semester progresses I may have to leave hanging out for Thursday nights and my off weekends.
On a less boring-yet-good note, there was another site I found a month ago by LichtFaktor Apparently these guys do light graffiti and it is AMAZING!

I just learned that Actor Heath Ledger is dead. Click this line for the news information
I must say, it was quite a shock when I found out a few moments ago. My friend Ryan texted me asking if I had heard about Heath, I said "What? Did he die or something?"(of course in a sarcastic way.) Damn. I know that there have been reports of it being a drug overdose and what not but I am more worried about the children and the family and friends he left behind. I know they will be taken alright but this must be extremely hard on them right now. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.

I held off on posting this year for two reasons: one major one being my layout. The second has to do with my toying with the idea of changing the format of how I post online... publically anyways. I am getting a bit tired of the whole egoist blog style really. I have been for quite some time. I mean deep down we all know that not that many people really give a fuck about the mundane things we are all guilty of posting about! Instead of droning on about how my day was, who I saw, what I bought, what someone got me etcetera...I think I will find something different to post about that day. Maybe it will be a simple post about the one thing that stood out that day or about a new artist or website I found.
I guess getting the egocentricities out of my blog posts will be a bit harder than I thought. I mean really, the posts will be about my view points.. but atleast it will not be about droll happenings.
